The problem
Managing TV advertising slots often depends on individual staff members who know which slots are available and what conditions apply. The project addressed this reliance on individual knowledge through a new SaaS product.
The client needed to launch a SaaS product for television broadcasters within six months, driven by broadcaster budgeting schedules and competitive pressures. The development budget was fixed, and the client needed support navigating an unfamiliar software development process.
What we built
We handled requirements definition, UI design, development, testing, and release. Development began on confirmed requirements while the remaining requirements were still being defined.
The platform includes ad slot availability views, management of complex ad slot conditions, quote status tracking, Excel and PDF exports, automated data extraction and export, customizable columns, and activity logs.
The decisions that mattered
Start building where the requirements are clear.
Requirements and development progressed in parallel. The team began implementation in defined areas while continuing to clarify the remaining scope.
Make the options understandable.
We explained concrete system options in the client’s own business language, avoiding unnecessary technical jargon and aligning expectations before development moved forward.
Prioritize within the constraints.
We reviewed features against the fixed budget and usability needs. We kept the team small to reduce coordination overhead and worked closely with the client to prevent misunderstandings that could lead to rework.
The outcome
The platform launched within six months and met the agreed budget and feature requirements. Two months after launch, a major television broadcaster decided to adopt it.
